2026 "Decision Day"
Dear Friends,
March 1, 2026. Some have called it “Decision day.” Dozens of people were told in public that they were no longer members of Wellspring Church, after being asked to raise their hand to affirm the elders as "called by God" and that "everything" they had preached was truth.
Punished for their integrity, some experienced grief and returned shell-shocked to their homes. Perhaps they never thought their leadership would tell people to leave for being honest about their questions, or for voicing concern over the details of how to treat friends and family who no longer attend Wellspring.

So what now? What does one do when you find yourself outside of the walls of Wellspring?
First, breathe. You do not need to make every decision immediately - give yourself time to think and heal.
Remember that you are the temple of the living God - you, yourself, if you believe.
We pray that you will join with with other believers, singing praises to God, however that may look or sound. Whether it is led by a worship team or an out-of-tune teenager, it is a sweet sound to the Father.
We hope you will ask questions, brothers and sisters in Christ. God is not threatened by your questions.
We believe that in time, you may come to see this as mercy - a painful push out of the comfortable cocoon of false teaching and into the freedom of Jesus Christ.

If you feel shaken, exhausted, or numb, you’re not failing - your heart is holding something heavy. It’s okay to seek care and counseling as you grieve the losses.

You are loved and you are seen, by God and by many who have walked this path before you.
